The body is finished!

The last two weeks a delegation from Revolve NTNU has been at Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) for casting body. Many employees from KDA has provided us with priceless help and guidance these weeks, which we really appreciate!

In the casting process, we spent our first proprietary molds to create a negative form of the final body parts. These were made in tooling prepeg, which is a type of carbon fiber suitable for making molds. Carbon fiber bodywork was layered inside the negative forms, before it was run in the autoclave. This is a machine which harden the carbon fibers by applying high pressure and high temperature for a long time.

We used this recipe on 39 different carbon parts.
